Island Boys & Girls - litter: 4 weeks

As the kittens have grown one week older we wonder if we have at least one creme coloured among them. Both the parents carry dillution so it might be a possibility. Since we don't have any experience with creme, we have to ask friends with that knowledge. I guess we will be certain about it in some weeks.

JAN MAYEN is a volcanic island in the Arctic Ocean and a part of Norway. It is 55 km (34 mi) long (southwest-northeast) and 373 km2 (144 sq mi) in area, partly covered by glaciers (an area of 114.2 km (71.0 mi) around the Beerenberg volcano.

Vegaøyan (Norwegian), or the Vega Archipelago (English), is a group of islands in the Norwegian Sea corresponding roughly to the municipality of Vega. Since 2004, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This cluster of around 6,500 small islands in Nordland county, just south of the Arctic circle, surrounds the main island of VEGA and has been inhabited since the Stone Age.

MOLLA, two mountainous islands in Vågan municipality, Nordland county, in Lofoten, by the inlet of Raftsundet. “Stormolla” (Store Molla /Big Molla) is 35,3km2 and has 22 inhabitans (2016). «Litlmolla» (Lille Molla / Little Molla) is 9,7 km2 and in uninhabited.

 

 

Moffen - NFO n 24

MOFFEN is a small, low island north of the mouth of Wijdefjorden, on the northern coast of Spitsbergen, the largest island of the Svalbard archipelago. The island lies just north of 80° so has become a popular target for vessels touring the archipelago but landing or entering the inner waters is strictly forbidden for fear of disturbing the wildlife as the island is an important haul-out area for Walrus and a nesting site for birds. The island was first labelled on a map by Hendrick Doncker, of Amsterdam, in 1655.

 

 

Mosken - NFO n 24

Male - Weight at 4 weeks: 543 grammes

Mosken is a small uninhabited rocky island in the municipality of Værøy in Nordland county, Norway. The 1.5-square-kilometre (0.58 sq mi) island is located in the Lofoten archipelago about halfway between the islands of Værøy to the south and Moskenesøy to the north. The Moskenstraumen maelstrom—one of the most powerful in the world—is located on the north side of Mosken. Historically, the island was used for grazing sheep in both the summer and the winter.
